Noted author, East Aurora alumni to speak at alma mater

East Aurora High School alum, Jorge Partida, returns to his alma mater to inspire the students by sharing his personal and professional journey that has literally taken him around the globe. Author and psychologist Jorge Partida, EAHS Class of 1983, will speak to his fellow Tomcats at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 in the Hawks Auditorium at East High.

Partida, also known as Dr. Jorge, is a renowned psychologist and author of "The Promise of the Fifth Sun: Ancestral Journey of Self Discovery." He is highly sought for his inspiring keynote addresses and appears regularly as a television and radio presenter in the U.S. and Latin America.

Partida was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. At 9 years of age, he immigrated to Aurora. Partida graduated from East Aurora High School in 1983, graduated from Loyola University of Chicago, and earned his doctorate from the Illinois School of Psychology.

In August, Partida published his first book, "The Promise of the Fifth Sun," focusing on his personal and professional journey as a psychologist and a healer. It also outlines his philosophy that all human beings are part of the same family and how we can learn from the treasures we've inherited from the past.
