Corporate lobby first, citizens last

Our failure to deal with providing medical care for all citizens in this country for the past 50 years has been a major factor in making our labor market less competitive with the rest of the world and left our economy weak and vulnerable.

U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam caved to pressure from the insurance industry and voted against health reform. Expecting hospitals, doctors, nurses, patients and our entire society and economy to go on with the status quo is terribly irresponsible.

Those voting against this bill stood in the way of progress to try to make sure the health insurance industry can continue to make huge profits by eliminating the sick from insurance coverage. The equation was simple: corporate lobby interests first, citizens last.
