Max gets bigger facility
ITASCA -- Tech-Max Machine, which specializes in precision computerized machining of large parts, recently moved into a new 40,000-square-foot facility in Itasca. The move more than doubles its size. Tech-Max will begin conducting job training and education classes from beginner to advanced for machinists looking to upgrade their skills.
Bang & Olufsen offer new TV
LAS VEGAS -- Bang & Olufsen, the Danish provider of high-end home theaters and custom multi-room music systems, Monday unveiled its latest plasma video innovation, the BeoVision 4 with automatic color management. The company, with its Midwest headquarters in Arlington Heights, said it integrates a camera and software that measure the color balance of the screen and adjust it automatically to compensate for aging phosphors. It will be available in March and will sell for $13,500 for the 65-inch screen and $7,500 for the 50-inch screen.
Shapiro named Gladson CEO
LISLE -- Gladson Interactive, a provider of shelf management data and online product images and information, said it appointed Mark A. Shapiro, a 25-year industry veteran, as CEO. He succeeds Mike Spindler. Shapiro comes to Gladson from the New England Consulting Group where he was a partner and a member of the consumer package, food service and over-the-counter pharmaceutical global practice teams. Gladson spokesman declined to say why Spindler was replaced.
IDEX completes acquisition of ADS
NORTHBROOK -- IDEX Corp. said it completed its previously announced $160 million acquisition of ADS LLC (previously named Nova Technologies Corp.). ADS is a provider of metering technology and flow monitoring services for the water and wastewater markets. ADS, headquartered in Huntsville, Ala., has annual revenues of about $70 million.
