Woman admits theft from employer
ROCK ISLAND -- Authorities say a Rock Island County woman accused of stealing more than $100,000 from her employer has pleaded guilty.
The woman, 46-year-old Denise Dreher of Silvis, was scheduled for a bench trial in front of Rock Island County Circuit Judge Michael Meersman on Wednesday when she chose to enter an open plea of guilty to one count of theft of between $100,000 and $500,000. An open plea is one entered by a defendant without an agreement about punishment.
Dreher's sentencing is set for Jan. 20.
Court records indicate Ms. Dreher is accused of stealing more than $107,000 from Access Control Company Inc. in Rock Island between December of 1999 and July of 2008. Records indicate she was arrested in September, 2008.
