Minor injuries in Huntley train accident
A woman was injured this morning after hitting the front of a freight train at just after 7 a.m., Huntley fire officials said.
Capt. David Eeg of the Huntley Fire Department said the unidentified woman was trying to cross an ungated railroad track intersection on rural Seeman Road when the accident happened.
Eeg said the train and the car seemed to arrive at the intersection at the same time, but added the accident remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff Department.
The woman sustained only minor injuries, and was transported from the scene to Centegra Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, Eeg said.
