Hanover Park gets energy grant

Hanover Park has been awarded a $141,600 Efficiency Community Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The federal grant, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will be used to convert 135 streetlight fixtures with new energy efficient LED fixtures. That's about 12 percent of the village's total streetlights.

The project will save Hanover Park about $6,000 in annual energy costs.
