Stevenson grad Thut gives Marquette sterling defense
The Marquette women's soccer team leads the Big East with 13 shutouts and a goals-against average of 0.53 this season.
Giving a big helping hand to that impressive defense is former Stevenson standout Lauren Thut, who has started and played nearly every minute of every game at right back.
She has helped anchor the defense of the Division I Golden Eagles, who won the Big East American Division Championship with a 1-0 shutout of highly ranked St. John's University.
Thut, who takes the majority of Marquette's free kicks, is a team leader in assists and minutes played. She also has scored a goal.
