Outlook Watch out for Rosary this year with six of the top seven players back from a team that went 9-5 for third place in the SCC last year, and also won the Oswego Christmas tournament and took second in the Geneva tournament. Five of the seven losses were to state-ranked teams. With that type of experience and talent, the Royals want to extend their postseason farther than last year. "The team is focused and ready to make up for last year's ending," Beebe said. It all starts in the middle with Rettig, who passed the 1,000-point mark in her career last year and could leave this year as the school's all-time leading scorer. She has yet to choose a college after averaging 18.2 points and 11 rebounds per game as a junior. Beebe has an experienced backcourt with Haugen (11.8 points per game) and Lane Richmond (2.3 points, 4.2 assists per game). Petrando (8.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg) returns at small forward, and the 6-4 Eckberg (5.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg) provides a twin tower with Rettig. Maryanski averaged 3.3 points and 3.8 rebounds last year. Beebe also likes his underclassmen and wants to see Rosary challenge state power Montini in the SCC.
