$145 million prison shouldn't go unused
Terrorism is a very sensitive subject, I think everyone can agree with that, but how dangerous is having less than 100 potential terrorists being detained in a practically brand new, high-security prison in our home state?
The "Republicans take aim at prison plan" article illustrated the perspectives of both political parties, but how do the people who live near the Thomson Correctional Center feel? I imagine that the idea of terrorists would initially result in fear, but the thought that this prison would bring thousands of jobs overrides the risk for some.
Approximately 3,000 jobs may very well be worth the risk, considering none of these potential terrorists have been known to attempt escape. Although I do agree that the prison would be a good boost for the town's economy, I understand people's worries about safety. I believe that if people do some research and learn the facts, there will be no reason to fear. Hopefully, this $145 million prison will not go unused.
