The biggest threat to our nation
On Nov. 3, German Chancellor Angela Merkel in an emotional plea to Congress called for action on climate change. Ignoring real science to plead for emotional actions so far proved to be unnecessary, Chancellor Merkel said, "We all know we have no time to lose." She called for the American Congress to set binding reductions in greenhouse gases "... in the interests of our children and grandchildren and in the interest of sustainable development all over the world."
I believe this to be a call for America to give up its sovereignty to others in the world who are jealous of our technology and industry. Chancellor Merkel and her EU cohorts speak not for impoverished third worlders or future generations, but for their own selfish interests. The United States of America belongs to Americans and first and foremost should be for Americans.
If we give away our technology or destroy our economy with some sort of voodoo environmentalism, that defies economic realities. How is that going to benefit the poor nations of the world? If Russia and China and the other emerging industrial nations are allowed to continue to pollute at their current levels, any sacrifices made by the U.S. will accomplish nothing more than the ruination of our industry and standard of living.
Wake up, America, to the biggest threat to our liberty and freedom and independence since the fall of communism and the collapse of the USSR.
