Chicago teen arrested on murder warrants in Urbana
URBANA -- Authorities in Champaign County say a Chicago teenager wanted in two slayings there has been arrested in Urbana.
Sgt. Curt Apperson of the Champaign County Sheriff's Police says members of his street crimes unit and the United States Marshals Service found 18-year-old Timothy Lightfoot late Tuesday afternoon.
Apperson says local authorities acted on a tip in finding Lightfoot, who was arrested without incident.
Lightfoot was wanted on two warrants charging him with first-degree murder. At least one of the killings happened in Chicago earlier this month.
