Man charged in Villa Park assault
A 17-year-old Villa Park man is being held on $1 million bond in the DuPage County jail in connection with an attack on a former girlfriend.
Police arrested Timothy House, of the 500 block of N. Third St., early Wednesday, Oct. 14, after a 17-year-old woman identified him as her attacker.
The previous evening, the young woman's family had filed a missing person report. About three hours after the report was filed, Villa Park police spotted her car on the 600 block of N. Second St. The car was unoccupied, but while police were checking the area, the young woman ran up to them.
She had facial swelling and red marks, and told the officers that House had hit her, said Lt. Michael Lay of the Villa Park Police Department.
A short time later, House was located in the area and arrested. While in custody at the Villa Park Police Department, he tried to escape, Lay said.
House was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated domestic battery, attempted escape and unlawful restraint. Aggravated criminal sexual assault is a Class X felony punishable by three to seven years in prison and fines up to $25,000.
