Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?Continue to support the schools and community within my district through my various involvements and help to prepare our youth for their future!What do you think about the process for measuring student success in your district? Is it adequate? What changes, if any, do you propose?Too many changes from state testing requirements for the state of Illinois. Need to concentrate on the methods and make them work!How big a role do you think the board of education should play in setting the curriculum for students and what ideas do you have for changes to the current curriculum?Our Curriculum department does a great job with keeping up state/federal requirements and continues to challenge our students with all the AP classes we have added to our curriculum to help prepare our children for after high schoolWhat budget issues will your district have to confront and what measures do you support to address them? If you believe cuts are necessary, what programs and expenses should be reduced or eliminated? On the income side, do you support any tax or fee increases?Budget issues have been a concern for our district along with a lot of other districts within the state of Illinois for years. Mani dated programs that were suppose to be fully funded by the state have not such as special education and bi-lingual. Biggest concern we face in the near future is Pension reform. No need for cutting of programs right now with our district.What role can and should school choice play in your district? If Congress or the state approves a voucher system or other means giving students broader choices among public and private schools, how will that affect your district?
