Carpentersville bike race to be held during Oktoberfest
The Chicago Cyclocross Cup Race No. 4 will be held in conjunction with Oktoberfest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carpenter Park, 122 Carpenter Blvd., Carpentersville.
This will be the biggest event of the season with adult and kid bike races. To register for the race, call Main Street Bicycles at (847) 783-0362.
Barry Savage of Savage Entertainment will be the emcee for Oktoberfest activities.
And Carpentersville's new Rotary Club will help with the fun.
There will be inflatables, games, prizes, karaoke contest and face painting. From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Home Depot will sponsor the pumpkin decorating contest. The winner will be announced at 4 p.m.
At the Battle of the Bands, Behind Closed Doors will perform from 1 to 2 p.m., Rockus from 2 to 3 p.m. and The Decibels from 3 to 4 p.m. The winner of the Battle of the Bands will be announced at 4:30 p.m.
The Chicago band Diagon Alley will perform from 4 to 5 p.m.
The food tents will feature the restaurants, El Sombrerito, Kenny's Brats and Taylor St. Pizza. The beer garden is sponsored by Project Fresh Start.
FISH Food Pantry will have a bin for food donations to help the food bank provide for neighbors in need. Bring non-perishables items for donation.
