Zion woman gets 6 years for ecstasy sales

A Zion woman was sentenced to six years in prison Friday after admitting her role in the sale of more than 350 doses of Ecstasy late last year to undercover police.

Emilie Hall, 21, faced a sentence of up to 30 years in prison if she had been convicted after a trial.

Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Scott Hoffert said Hall, of the 2400 block of Gilead Avenue, was one of three people involved in the sales.

He said Hall and Jacobi Marotta, 30, of Antioch and James Young, 32, of Waukegan sold the drugs to agents of the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group between Nov. 28 and Dec. 17.

Hoffert said the trio delivered 14 does of Ecstasy on Nov. 28 in exchange for $195, sold another 50 doses for $550 on Dec. 4 and another 100 doses for $925.

All three were arrested Dec. 17 when they sold the agent 199 doses for $1,800, Hoffert said.

All of the exchanges took place in parking lots in Zion and Winthrop Harbor, Hoffert said.

Marotta, formerly of the 1000 block of Main Street, was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty May 4.

Young, of the 2600 block of Sycamore Street, has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to go to trial Oct. 26.
