Most of us are not better off today

A fine gentlemen (Mr. Wagner, Aug. 28 Fence Post) spoke of how we are better off economically now than when President Clinton was our leader.

Oh really? I can only come to the conclusion that Mr. Wagner is speaking for himself, which seems atypical of Republicans in general.

I for one am not better off. Many, many Americans are not better off now as consumer costs have risen, failed banks and home lenders across the nation causing fear, over extended credit to consumers at juice-loan interest rates, costs of basics are through the roof and I have not even mentioned the cost of diesel and gas.

A position of "I'm better off under Bush" does not reflect the majority of Americans in this country.
