Police: Woman tried to enroll as boy at school
MARION -- Police in the southern Illinois city of Marion say they've arrested a 24-year-old woman who tried to enroll in the local high school as a 15-year-old boy.
Investigators say Jack Kaiser is a transgender person who also has gone by the name Jennifer May. Kaiser was arrested Tuesday and charged with disorderly conduct for misrepresenting herself to a state agency.
Police say Kaiser was using the name Jack Stones when she tried to enroll at Marion High School, telling the state child-welfare agency she'd been abandoned.
But the school's superintendent says Kaiser couldn't provide school officials with a birth certificate or school records, looked older than 15 and answered questions "too adult-like."
It's unclear why Kaiser was posing as a student.
There is no Marion telephone listing for Jack Kaiser or Jennifer May.
