Geneva High School senior earns Eagle rank

Geneva High School senior William Zupke recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout during the Troop 46 Eagle Scout Court of Honor at Grace Lutheran Church in Lily Lake.

Zupke's Eagle Project entailed gathering Troop 46 Boy Scouts and Geneva High School Tech Crew students to work together to improve the backstage inner workings of the high school auditorium. The project included two phases: repainting the 40-foot back wall of the theater to help emphasize special lighting projects and building 9- by 5-foot-long wooden work tables that hold set designs from past stage productions and materials for future ones.

Zupke solicited nearly community support and nearly $1,000 in donations from local businesses to complete the project, while amassing students, Scouts and adults to help provide manpower for the project.
