Judge finds man who tried to kill wife guilty of kidnapping
MILWAUKEE -- A man already serving 37 years in prison for trying to kill his wife has been found guilty of kidnapping and interstate domestic violence.
Forty-four-year-old David Larsen was convicted in August 2005 of beating and abducting his pregnant ex-wife and leaving her for dead in an unheated storage facility in freezing weather.
Doctors say Teri Jendusa-Nicolai was about an hour from death when officers found her in a Wheeling storage locker.
A federal judge found Larsen guilty earlier this month on the additional charges. The decision follows a trial held in the fall of 2006. It isn't clear why the decision took so long.
Larsen now faces the possibility of life in prison without parole. No sentencing date has been set.
