Hanover Park teen sentenced to 12 years
A 16-year-old Hanover Park teen was sentenced to 12 years in prison last week for a gang-related shooting in March. Jesus Freyre, of the 1900 block of Evergreen Avenue, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a firearm. In exchange, attempted murder charges were dropped. Prosecutors said that on March 14, Freyre shot a Streamwood teen in a passing car after the victim failed to respond to Freyre flashing a gang sign. Freyre has been credited with 206 days already served in jail.
