Police search for Barrington man

Lake County authorities are looking for information on the whereabouts of a Barrington-area man reported missing by his family.

Robert D. Nelson, 47, of the 28500 block of North Drive, was last seen about 8 p.m. Wednesday when he left home without his wallet, phone or a vehicle. Police said he was "despondent" over recent family matters.

"We are calling on the public to help us out here. We are concerned for Mr. Nelson's well-being and are feverishly working to locate him," Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran said in a news release Thursday.

Nelson was described as 5'8" tall, 165 lbs, and bald with hazel eyes and fair skin. Searches of the Fox River near his home turned up empty, police said.
