Learn what theater can offer area children
The Noble Fool Theatricals Performing Arts Academy invites aspiring local youth, age 3 to 18, to a fall open house and free workshop from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Studio Theater at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles.
The open house is designed for interested children and their parents to come and learn about the academy, meet the accomplished teachers, and even try out a mini-workshop with fellow students. Each workshop will include a short performance from past students.
"So many times I get e-mails and phone calls from parents who have children interested in trying a class, but sometimes are too shy or unsure to commit to a full session of classes. By having an open house, we're creating an environment that's inviting and fun, where current students can talk to new students, and fellow parents can get to know each other and ask questions," said education manager Tracy Whiteside. "This free event is a great way to just try it out and see if it's right for you."
Each hour consists of an introduction from Tracy Whiteside, a showcase performance from current NFT students, and a mini-class with an instructor. Attendees are able to come any time between 4 and 8 p.m. to participate or just watch. Parents are invited to observe as well.
The open house schedule includes a meet-and-greet with instructors, students, fellow parents, staff, and interns at 4 p.m.; Tots Mini-Class for ages 3-5 at a 4:30 p.m.; Singing Mini-Class for ages 6-18 at 5:30 p.m.; Acting Mini-Class for ages 6-18 at 6:30 p.m.; and Musical Theatre Mini-Class for ages 6-18 at 7:30 p.m.
