Aurora man still in critical after 2-car crash

An Aurora man remains in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash that happened Friday afternoon on the 1000 block of East New York Street.

The injured man, 31-year-old Elvis Hernandez, was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle that rear-ended a box truck around 2:44 p.m. He was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

The SUV's driver, 26-year-old David Solis, pulled the SUV into a parking lot and ran off, but returned to the scene 45 minutes later, Aurora police report. The driver of the truck was not injured.

He will appear in Kane County bond court Sunday morning.
