Track tips for Friday, Aug. 24

Even before the rain poured down, Arlington's Polytrack played particularly fast Thursday. In the day's third race, a $25,000 claimer, race winner Kemp posted the fastest 6-furlong time of the meet, stopping the timer in 1:15.07. After Market, the probable favorite for the Arlington Million before he was scratched due to less than firm turf conditions, resurfaces to run for 25 percent of the purse in Sunday's $250,000 Grade II Del Mar Handicap. He'll be the odds-on favorite in a short field.

Best bet: Lightning Stormy (9th)
