Aircell announces advanced networks

ITASCA - Aircell, a provider of airborne communications, announced its intention to base its fourth-generation mobile broadband network on Long-Term Evolution, the emerging standard for advanced mobile broadband networks and services. Having pioneered the first commercial in-flight Internet service in North America, Aircell said it plans to deploy LTE to enable such next-generation, ultrahigh bandwidth mobile services as hi-definition and interactive TV and multiplayer immersive gaming that passengers will come to expect.
