Student artwork kicks off Judson's exhibition series

The 2009-10 Lecture and Exhibition Series from the School of Art, Design and Architecture at Judson University begins its fall exhibitions on today, Sept. 14, with student work from the annual European Study Tour, this year to Italy and Greece. A reception will be held Saturday, Sept. 26.

The roster of lecturers for the fall also includes Chicago architect Robert Benson of 4240 Architecture on Thursday, Oct. 1, and Omaha-based author, curator and contemporary art critic Daniel Siedell on Thursday, Oct. 22.

The fall lectures conclude on Friday, Nov. 13, with a lecture and reception from Nashville artist Erin Anfinson, to accompany her exhibition, Confrontations, on display Oct. 19 through Nov. 19, in the Draewell Gallery.

"The Lecture and Exhibition series reflects the School of Art, Design and Architecture's mission and strives to bring relevant and professional theorists and practitioners to share their passions with our students," said Joe Cory, who teaches and coordinates the exhibits in Judson's Draewell Gallery. The series has been available for several years. Organizers are inviting the public to attend the lectures and exhibits planned for the year, which are free.
