DeKalb man charged with first-degree murder
Authorities are holding a DeKalb man on $1 million bond in the fatal bludgeoning of an acquaintance last weekend.
Police say 26-year-old Michael R. Greenwell is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the death of 44-year-old DeKalb resident Brent A. Petrakovitz.
Officer say the two men were at a party late Saturday night and quarreled violently. A witness told police Greenwell was seen hitting Petrakoviz repeatedly in the head, and then putting him into a pickup truck.
Petrakovitz's body was found in a partially burned pickup in a rural area Sunday afternoon.
Deputy DeKalb County Coroner said Tuesday that Petrakovitz died of head trauma.
