Car crashes into Carpentersville store

A driver and two occupants of a Carpentersville tobacco store escaped serious injury after a vehicle plowed into the store about 4 p.m. Thursday. Firefighters were able to remove debris from around the car and help the driver out, while people in the Tobacco Outlet, 2305 Randall Road, escaped through a back door, Carpentersville fire officials said.

Carpentersville police were unavailable for comment late Thursday. Rutland-Dundee fire officials assisted at the scene.
