Wilson Street lane to be closed for repair

The westbound lane of Wilson Street on the east side of the Fox River bridge will be closed from 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday while a leaking water valve to a wall hydrant is replaced.

The hydrant is used by city workers to attach hoses for cleaning the bridge area. The repair is a warranty job being done by the contractor who built the bridge in 2007-08.

Two-way traffic will be maintained on Wilson, but lanes will be narrower and there might be backups.

The city chose to have the work done on a Saturday morning because there usually is less traffic than on a weekday, city engineer Noel Basquin said.
