Thanks for help with Crayons for Kids

On behalf of Marmion Academy's Crayons for Kids Program, I would like to thank the extremely generous patrons of 10 area Jewel-Osco stores.

Over two weekends in August, we were able to collect 34,100 school supply packages/items and over $3,000 in monetary donations. These donations were shared with 60 Fox Valley area schools and agencies to assist students in need at the prekindergarten through high school levels.

Now in our fifth year, Crayons for Kids has collected and distributed over 100,000 items and nearly $10,000 to needy Fox Valley students. I would also like to thank student leaders Thomas Delves, Henry Kinane and Ben Kanute, along with Bill Johnson, Campus Minister at Marmion Academy. A big thanks to the many student volunteers from both Marmion Academy and Rosary High School and the managers of Jewel-Oscos in Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles, Batavia, Aurora, Elburn and Sugar Grove.
