Carpentersville child rapist gets 6 years
A 20-year-old Carpentersville man was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison after he admitted sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.
Nestor Perez, of the 100 block of Golfview Lane, pleaded guilty to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault in exchange for the sentence, which also requires him to register as a sex offender. Kane County Judge Thomas Mueller accepted the plea deal.
Authorities have said Perez and the victim knew each other, and the assault took place Aug. 1, 2007, at her home.
Perez, who previously denied the charges, had faced up to 30 years in prison if convicted at trial; he appears to have no prior criminal history.
In addition to his prison sentence, Perez must undergo psychological treatment. He was given credit for 239 days served in the county jail, court records show.
