Barrington Lions sponsor eye screening

The Barrington Lions Club sponsored a free eye screening for diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration Friday Sept. 4, at Barrington Area Library. The screening focused on people who are diabetic, have a family history of diabetes or are 55 years of age or older. Nearly 40 individuals took advantage of the eye screening. A photograph is taken of the interior of the eye and evaluated by a retina specialist. The participants of the screening receive the results by mail. Working behind the scenes were Barrington Lions Glenn Engelhardt, Jim Wilson and Dan Evasink.
