Waukegan man gets prison sentence for price-tag switching
A 50-year-old Waukegan man has been given 20-to-60 months in a Nebraska prison for switching price tags at an outdoors goods store in Sidney.
Algis Levisauskas pleaded guilty earlier this month to felony theft by deception. During sentencing on Thursday, he also was ordered to make restitution to Cabela's of nearly $2,800.
An arrest affidavit says Levisauskas was part of a three-member team buying $2,700-$3,100 sonar/GPS units after switching price stickers with stickers taken from units that sold for under $100.
Cabela's believes that occurred 36 times in the past year at its stores in eight states, including twice at the store in Sidney.
