Accident knocks out traffic lights

Aurora police are expecting backups today, especially at afternoon rush hour, at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Long Grove Drive on the city's far east side.

The traffic lights at that intersection are without power and are not expected to be operating until late this afternoon.

The power outage was caused by a traffic accident about 8 a.m. today when a vehicle struck a power pole at that intersection.

Power has been restored to the area with the exception of the traffic signals. ComEd crews are on the scene. No major injuries were reported.
