Downstate man to plead guilty in 2005 slaying

BENTON -- A man sentenced to five years in prison on federal weapons charges will admit his role in a 2005 Pulaski County slaying as part of a plea deal with the U.S. government.

Twenty-two-year-old Perry Foulks pleaded guilty in June to two federal counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and was sentenced last week to serve five years simultaneously on each charge.

As part of a plea deal, the U.S. Attorney's Office says Foulks agrees to plead guilty to second-degree murder in the December 2005 death of Trea Hanna of Anna.

The 23-year-old old victim's body was found in a burned car days after he'd been reported missing by family members.

A message left Monday with Pulaski County prosecutors was not immediately returned.
