Naperville police investigating crash involving squad car

Naperville police are still investigating a Saturday evening crash involving a marked Naperville police car at 95th Street and Route 59.

The police car was eastbound on 95th Street at 6:23 p.m. in response to an emergency call. It was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Route 59.

Naperville police Cmdr. David Hoffman said the female officer, whose name has not yet been released, was treated for minor injuries at Edward Hospital.

In a news release, police said the driver and three passengers in the other vehicle were also transported to Edward Hospital with what were determined to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.

The intersection was closed for about two hours while the crash was being investigated.
