'Glow Ball' golf for couples

Play golf in the dark at the Couples Glow Ball Golf Event Saturday, Sept. 12 at Orchard Valley Golf Course, 2411 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora. Cocktails are at 7 p.m., followed by an appetizer buffet and shotgun start at 8:15 p.m. Golfers receive illuminated golf balls and are outfitted with glow-stick gear for this five-hole event. Learn about social networking

Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Skype - you've heard about them and maybe even dabbled in them a bit. The local branch of the American Association of University Women will host a meeting that features small-group demonstrations and table discussions on these social networks at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at the St. Charles Library, 1 S. Outdoor soccer registration

The Tri-Cities Soccer Association is accepting registrations for its fall season. Games are played outdoors on Saturdays from Sept. 12 to Nov. 7. The league is open to ages 5 to 19. DivorceCare group forming

Batavia United Methodist Church, 8 N. Batavia Ave. (Route 31), is starting a free, new DivorceCare support group at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13. There will be 13 weekly sessions. Child care will be provided through Sunday school. Topics include anger, loneliness, depression, new relationships, children and forgiveness. A licensed clinical counselor will lead the group. Stroke and osteoporosis screenings

The South Elgin Lions Club will host a stroke and osteoporosis screening event at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 500 Fulton St. Preregistration is required for all screenings, which take about 60 to 90 minutes to complete.
