Clinton not good for vice president

Several recent letters to the editor in various newspapers have expressed that if Sen. Obama is the candidate of the Democrats, lifelong Democrats would vote for John McCain.

Others suggest an Obama and Clinton ticket would be ideal.

I, on the other hand, state that should Hillary Clinton be on the ticket as either presidential or vice presidential candidate, I shall have to vote for Sen. McCain, regardless of the fact that I have favored Sen. Obama from the outset.

The senator from New York is simply too slick, too connected and carries too much baggage, much of it in the form of her husband.

While I acknowledge that President Clinton's White House accomplished several good things, it also bred much of the divisive atmosphere we fight today.

If Hillary were running for office without her husband, perhaps I could vote for her. I may have even been able to see her as more capable than Sen. Obama.

But, she comes with the package that she was made to carry through her first terms in the White House.

Perhaps in a few years I would welcome Chelsea as a prospective candidates for the top job. Her mother simply is not acceptable in either the top or second slots.
