Scouting the Columbus Crew: Chad Marshall (knee sprain) might be the best defender in the league now and a weapon on corner kicks and free kicks, so the Crew (11-4-9, 42 points) will miss him. Can the Fire keep Guillermo Barros Schelotto in check?

Scouting the Fire: This is as good as it's going to get for the Fire (10-6-9, 39 points), at least for a couple of weeks. Cuauhtemoc Blanco is back from national-team duty, Brian McBride and Wilman Conde are back from injury, and this is just the Fire's second game in September, so the players should be rested. Can McBride take advantage of Marshall's absence?
