Aurora woman unhurt after car flips, lands in creek

An Aurora woman was trying to pick up a cell phone she had dropped Monday morning when she lost control of her car, which flipped over and landed on its roof in a Naperville creek, police said.

The driver was able to free herself from the vehicle and walked away unharmed, authorities said.

Amy Lamboley, 38, was driving east on Diehl Road near Raymond Drive about 10 a.m. when she dropped the phone, according to Naperville Sgt. Lee Martin. When she bent to pick it up, she drove off the road.

Her vehicle, a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, rolled over several times and landed in a creek south of the road.

Police have not issued any citations in the incident and Martin said there are none expected because it was a single-vehicle crash.

Lamboley, the only person in the car, was wearing her seat belt.

"We always like to remind people to wear properly adjusted seat belts and buckle their children," Martin said.
