Elgin's social service grant reworked in budget crunch

Elgin Township has temporarily suspended its annual social service grant process for specific project funding.

Instead, due to current circumstances in state funding, they have elected to provide one-time funding assistance to agencies that provide essential "well being" services.

Applications are available on the Web site at elgintownship.com or the township office, 729 S. McLean Blvd., Elgin.

Applications must be returned by Thursday, Sept. 10. Funding will be awarded in October. Presentations may be made at the board meeting Monday, Sept. 14. Call (847) 741-2045 to be put on the agenda.
