Two men in custody after police chase from Rosemont to Chicago
Two men are in custody after a police chase that started at a Rosemont restaurant and ended in a crash in Chicago Saturday.
Police are not releasing the names of the men involved in the chase, which started at about 1 p.m. Saturday.
Someone called police when they spotted a suspicious car in the parking lot of a restaurant on Higgins Road. Police tracked down the suspicious car, a Chrysler PT Cruiser, in a nearby parking lot. Officers then attempted to stop the vehicle, as it headed west on Higgins Road.
The drivers refused to pull over and accelerated in an attempt to flee police, authorities said. A chase ensued and ended in Chicago in the area of Grand and Oak Park avenues when the PT Cruiser blew a red light and struck another car in the intersection, police said.
No one from either vehicle was injured.
While investigating the crash, police found items in the PT Cruiser that had been stolen from a vehicle parked one of the lots where the car had been seen, according to a release issued by the Rosemont police.
