Speaker to share look at Elgin's manufacturing past
Daily Herald columnist Jerry Turnquist will be the featured speaker at the "Elgin Experience" Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Marcus Theater, 111 S. Randall Road, Elgin.
His presentation, "Made in Elgin" will take participants back in time to see and hear about some of the many products manufactured in Elgin over the city's long history.
The "Elgin Experience" is open to people ages 50 and older. The doors open at 9:30 a.m., with the program at 10 a.m.
A fee of $2 per person includes coffee, tea, doughnuts, door prizes and the choice to view either a first-run movie or the classic 1944 film "Arsenic and Old Lace."
