Build a world with nutritional values
The Aug. 15 Daily Herald cartoon of a trim person hauling an obese person up a mountain offered a strong visual of one perspective of our collective situation: Our health care begins with us.
One aspect of our health is food. What do you eat? The array of food choices available in restaurants and grocery stores and your kitchen cupboard may not all be in your best interest. While the insurance agencies, medical professionals, politicians, pharmaceutical corporations, farmers, agricultural and branded food companies and health care enterprises duke it out for dollars, our dollars, please pause to evaluate your habits and knowledge about what goes into your body.
I believe we should demand a systemic shift in American agriculture and industrial food production/distribution. We vote every day with each food purchase we make. Pay attention. Help build a world that includes the fundamental nutritional support necessary to live healthy lives now and in the future.
