Arlington Park resumes OTB contests, seminars

Arlington Park will again offer handicapping contests at selected Illinois Trackside OTB locations this fall in conjunction with handicapping seminars.

The fall seminars will be conducted by handicapper M. Scott McMannis, who also is the publisher of Arlington Trainer Patterns, Hawthorne Trainer Patterns, and the McMannis Speed & Trip Service Newsletter.

With its handicapping contests, the top finisher every Saturday will win a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the Coast Casinos World Series handicapping tournament, where the top prize is estimated to be $300,000. That means Arlington will be giving away nine trips this fall.

Participants must purchase a $50 contest wagering card at the Twin Spires Club Center at the designated location on day of each contest and play a minimum of five races from that day's card at Hawthorne Race Course.

The OTB Tour will begin on the first Saturday in October and will continue for eight Saturdays with a Tour stop at a different Arlington parlor each Saturday. A complete Tour schedule will be announced soon with the date and OTB location for each Tour stop.

Details for an additional OTB Tour this fall featuring Daily Herald handicapper and Arlington Park morning line maker Joe Kristufek will be announced soon.
