Storm to host tryouts this week

Algonquin Storm 13-U Travel Baseball will hold tryouts starting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at Presidential Park, 800 Highland Ave. in Algonquin. For details and registration, visit www.algonquinstorm.com.

Attorney to speak to memory center

Oak Crest Hope Cottage Memory Center, 204 S. State St., Elgin, will host elder law attorney, Daniel Parsons, at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 3. Parsons will educate attendees on elder law issues, estate planning, disability planning, trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship and probate. Lunch in the Park series continues

The village of East Dundee will host the Lunch in the Park Concert Series from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 at The Depot, 319 N. River St. These events are free and open to the public. Lunch will be for sale in The Depot and provided by CIAO's Pizzeria, 310 N. River St., East Dundee. There will also be a free raffle, prizes and free desserts. New members welcome at club
