Suspect arrested in Rolling Meadows bank robbery
A suspected bank robber was arrested about 10 a.m. Tuesday in Arlington Heights, police said.
Responding to an alert by Rolling Meadows police, Arlington Heights officers stopped a vehicle at Palatine and Arlington Heights roads, said Detective Sgt. Mike Hernandez.
A lone man with a hand gun took control of the MB Financial office at 2251 Plum Grove Road a few minutes earlier at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to a spokesman for the FBI. He fled with an undetermined amount of cash, the spokesman said.
No one was injured, said Sgt. Tony Gaspari of the Rolling Meadows Police Department.
The suspect was turned over to the FBI, and charges are pending.
One of the questions being investigated by the FBI is whether the man was believed to be involved in other suburban bank robberies, the spokesman said.
