School supply drive to help needy children

It's "Back to School" time, when children begin to get excited about new backpacks, paper, pencils, pens and new shoes for the new school year. But what if you couldn't afford a pair of new shoes or school supplies?

Open Door Clinic needs your help to provide some of the necessities for our children, affected by HIV/AIDS, to be able to go back to school.

Open Door Clinic provides more than 1,000 free doctor visits, 10,000 hours of case management, 100 mental health/substance abuse therapy sessions, along with blood work and labs tests, medication and nursing care to more than 400 HIV/AIDS clients from five counties.

In addition, Open Door Clinic provided peer outreach counseling and/or testing to more than 3,000 individuals at high-risk for contracting HIV. Most of our clients live 300 percent below the poverty level and for them providing school supplies for their children is extremely difficult.

Please, consider helping these children with their back-to-school needs.

They need donations of school supplies, paper, pencils, notebooks, calculators, etc. The children also need gift certificates to buy new shoes from Target or Wal-Mart.
