Dist. 220 superintendent discusses lessons learned during the pandemic

Two years ago, COVID-19 upended life as we know it, exposing the strengths and weaknesses of every industry, including education.

Join Barrington's White House at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, as District 220's Dr. Robert Hunt discusses the pandemic's impact on the classroom and the lessons learned that will drive opportunities for students moving forward.

Dr. Hunt brings significant experience and leadership in education, most recently as the superintendent of schools for Chagrin Falls Exempted Village School District in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where he served as the district's leader for nine years.

In October 2020, Dr. Hunt was named "Ohio Superintendent of the Year" by the American Association of School Administrators.

Prior to serving as superintendent of schools of Chagrin Falls Schools, Dr. Hunt served for one year as superintendent of schools for the Streetsboro City School District in Ohio. Previously, he served Chagrin Falls Schools in a variety of roles, including high school assistant principal, high school principal and assistant superintendent.

His career began as a middle school English teacher and athletic director, then eventually assistant principal at the Kenston Local School District in Ohio.

Dr. Hunt lives with his family in Barrington. His wife Shannon is an English teacher in another area school district. Their two youngest children attend Grove Avenue Elementary. They also have a son who is finishing up his senior year of high school in Ohio and a daughter who attends the University of Dayton.
