Hersey tops Thornridge
Connor Miklasz saved his two 3-pointers for when Hersey's boys basketball team needed them most in Wednesday's 11th-place game in the 45th annual Pekin Holiday Tournament.
Miklasz's first 3 wiped out a 2-point deficit in the fourth quarter and his second increased the led to 6 points as the Huskies (7-6) beat Thornridge 62-54.
Miklasz finished with 13 points and his brother Kyle had a game-high 15 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Mertes added 11 points and 7 assists and Trevor Haas added 8 points for the Huskies, who led 40-32 at halftime.
